Chanel Pre-Fall 2018 Metier De’Art Paris-Hamburg Black Wool PVC & Long Satin Ribbon Sailors Cap

From the Chanel Pre-Fall 2018 runway show comes this exquisite sailors cap. This hat was a clear standout and integral part of Karl Largerfelds story telling. Karl Lagerfeld was born in the northern German city of Hamburg, a major European shipping port, this collection anchored in the seafaring character of the town on the River Elbe. “I’ve never left; this is part of me,” Karl reflected after the show. “I like Hamburg as an idea; something in the back of my mind.”

The show also intended to display the work produced by the Chanel-owned luxury artisan-specialist companies like Maison Michel, the Milliner of this beautiful hat. Vogues Sarah Mower said of the collection “there was the stroke of genius that was the Maison Michel–made nautical tweed cap to consider at length. There was one on the head of every model, female and male, in the show…there was no distracting from the plain fact: Fashionwise, this homecoming collection ranks as one of Karl Lagerfeld’s very best.”

Crafted from black wool, patent PVC it features long satin ribbon bow at the back that could surely be tucked in if desired. The subtle yet iconic CC logo sits proudly on the front quarter side.
