Hermes 2014 R Stamp Blue Obscure Veau Sombrero Constance Cartable Bag Palladium Hardware
The Hermès Fall/Winter 2013 Collection brought us something special for those with an appetite for the rare and luxurious. The bag was named the Constance when it was created in 1969, after the newborn daughter of its designer, Catherine Chaillet. The reissue of the wider, taller Hermès Constance Cartable comes with an intentionally shorter leather strap because it is meant to be carried by hand. The single most stunning feature, however, has to be its iconic H clasp. Now made even more beautiful with the inlay of calfskin leather, making it more tactile and comforting to the touch with an understated air of sophistication.
Why we love this Blue Obscure Constance Cartable
From the tanning process to each individual saddle-stitch, the techniques have been refined and passed down from generation to generation, maintaining the brand’s attention to perfect detail. It takes a total of 14 hours to craft a single Constance Cartable which measures 29 cm across; it is made up of at least 50 separate pieces of pre-cut Veau Sombrero Calfskin and sewn together by a single artisan from start to finish. Finished in an almost black depth of Blue Obscure with a matte finish and palladium plated edge to define the 'H' clasp. This bag is the ultimate representation of hand craftsmanship and refined elegance. Attainable by few but admired by many.
Condition: excellent condition, some minor scratches and rubs to leather but they're not particularly noticeable overall.
Measures: L 11.5 in (29cm) x W 3.5 in (9cm) x H 10 in (25.5cm)
