Prada Woven Straw & White Leather Small Bucket Bag
The Italian powerhouse Prada has fully cemented itself as one of the world’s biggest fashion hitters – and its impact on the industry and popular culture is tangible. In 1913, the very first Prada store was founded by Mr Mario Prada (Miuccia Prada’s grandfather) opening in the world's oldest shopping mall, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan. The store sold bags, trunks and travel accessories to the affluent Milanese fashionistas and by 1919 they obtained the rather prestigious title of ‘Official Supplier of the Italian Royal Household.’
Fast forward to 1970 when Miuccia Prada joined the family business (having earned a PhD in political science and dabbled in mime at the Piccolo Teatro). She got down to work, designing her first set of backpacks and totes with sleek, understated branding. This tactic was the complete antithesis to the logo-heavy It-bags doing the circuit at that time and proved to be a sure-fire hit. In 1988, the brand’s first runway collection made its debut to critical acclaim, and the brand cemented itself as a key fashion player.
Each season Prada continues to amass followers and make fashion with a conscience - playing on Political statements in its collections and utilising ethical production methods. Invest in your own iconic wardrobe piece with this timeless Prada bucket bag. An inspired design crafted from straw and saffiano leather. Finished with a detachable shoulder strap for everyday ease of wear.
